Sida’s travel grant is intended for students or recent graduates who have been accepted on an unpaid internship at an international organisation. The grant gives you the opportunity to finance some of the costs associated with your time abroad.

Sida's travel grant closed for applications 2016

Unfortunately it is not possible to apply for Sida's travel grant in 2016. This is due to a reduction of Sida's budget.

Reporting and assessment

If you previously have been awarded Sida's travel grant, you have to report after completing your internship. You must submit a brief report, 1-2 A4 pages, to the Swedish Council for Higher Education no later than one month after completing the internship.

The report should include:

  • a description of the workplace and your tasks
  • your personal experience
  • a description of how the internship has influenced your interest in international issues and other issues relating to Swedish development partnerships.

You should also append:

  • a certificate of your completed internship from the workplace, signed by an authorised person, that clearly states the period of internship
  • a completed questionnaire and report form (download the form using the below link)
