Forestry system in this course limits the scope of interactions between or in combination of forest system, human societal system and global/climate system in one concept where interactions of either system are studied to better describe forestry’s role in human society in contemporary applied science. Biological systems of forests in this course may include the basic physiological and ecological interactions of a plant while in the process of forest biomass growth. This course aims to provide basic science concept to make easy understanding of plant growth in natural environment and various ecological factors involving tree/forest growth. Studies on carbon balance of trees and ecosystems would make students able to estimate carbon budget of forestry system. Forest management techniques mostly operational side are also included to make student able to calculate and evaluate better alternatives regarding carbon emissions and economic benefits.
